   REMINDER....  PHONE USAGE - CAMERAS - PHOTO TAKING - VIDEOTAPING ...etc.....
           Students may be in possession of a cellular telephone, pager/beeper, or other electronic communications
device subject to the terms of this policy and the administrative rules of the district. Use of the device shall be LIMITED TO before entering the building in the morning, during their lunchtime and after the student’s last class in the afternoon. Such devices shall not be used during instruction time or in the passing time between classes unless there is a bona fide health or safety emergency. In no case will cell phones be permitted for use in the locker room areasThe use of cameras, picture taking or videotaping of any kind is NOT permitted at anytime unless doing so as a classroom project supervised by the teacher.


  

     DRESS CODE POLICY ... With warm weather still upon us... we would
             
like to remind you and your student of our SCHOOL DRESS CODE policy. To
              s
ee our full dress code policy, please refer to the KMS Student Handbook
              which is posted on the
www.nwschools.org  website.**

             NO EXTREME ATTIRE... Your student's attire should not be extreme nor
            should it interfere with the instruction process in class. 


             NO.. TANK TOPS, crop shirts, bare midriffs, boxers, sagging pants,
            pajama pants or
any piece of clothing that allows your child's
            undergarments to be seen.  

             NO... PANTS W/ HOLES ABOVE THE KNEE. 

             SHORTS/SKIRTS... Your child's shorts and/or skirts can NOT be any
              shorter than 3 1/2 inches from their knee (the length of a credit
              card/drivers license).


            
NO... items of clothing with profanity and/or vulgar suggestions or
              messages.


            
NO... items of clothing that promote tobacco, tobacco companies, the use
              of tobacco, drugs and/or alcohol.


             NO... HATS or bandanas

                 **
1st Violation - Warning. Student is allowed to call home for other
                     clothes or can find other clothes to change into.  Once the student

                     has changed they can return to class.


                 **
ALL further violations -  Student is Suspended from school.  Parent
                     is called to come pick them up.

Northwest R.W. Kidder Middle School models an exemplary middle school. It exists within the supportive community it serves. Because all students are valued, educational problems and techniques are adapted to help them maximize their potential. The students respond to the caring and creative environment with enthusiasm, confidence and respect. Everyone works together and, utilizing the latest technology, prepares students for their future. Our students become the foundation of an exemplary community.
